Each of the Zeva's Austrian Crystal Buffing Files is constructed very carefully. These are professional grade buffing files as opposed to retail grade files typically available at department or drug stores. Each Zeva file is made in several layers to insure its longevity and gentleness on the nail surface. At the center of each file is a 2 millimeter thick semi-rigid plastic that is specifically designed to help you apply the correct pressure to the nail surface when filing. Adhered to both sides of the plastic is closed-cell foam that is designed to cushion the file surface to help protect your nail plate. Finally, adhered to the foam, on both sides of all three files, are Austrian Crystal (aluminum oxide) coated fabric strips, in varying levels of buffing power.
The #1 Cleaning File is the most abrasive, designed to remove ridges, stain and other minor imperfections on the nail surface. This file works best with very gentle pressure and it only needs to be used about once every three weeks. After initial use, most people find they only need to use this file on new nail growth about once a month. The #2 Smoothing Nail Buffing File is designed to gently smooth your nail surface. This file should be used every other week. The Zeva #3 Finishing Nail Buffing File has very fine Austrian Crystal particles embedded in its cloth surface. In fact, they are so fine they feel smooth. The #3 file is specifically designed to gently buff the nail surface to a high-gloss shine. This file is so smooth you can use it as often as you like.
All the files should be washed with mild soap and water after each use to remove any nail filings or oils that may accumulate from your hands and finger- or toenails. Do not soak in water. Just wipe clean.
